Here is what our parents say about our school!

“As a stay-at-home mom, I was hesitant to send my 3-year-old to preschool 5 days a week, but his transition couldn’t have been any smoother. He impresses me every day with not only what he learns and comprehends academically, but socially and emotionally as well. He recently even came home and begged to go to school full-day with all his friends. Choosing SMA has been the best decision we have made for him thus far.” P. – Mother of a 4-year-old boy

“My daughter is more focused, responsible & compassionate since joining SMA.” — J. Mother of a 4-year-old girl

“There is freedom with boundaries. Children are able to choose what they do. They are treated with respect and you can tell the teachers believe in them.” – M. Mother of a 5-year-old boy

“I am really excited about Southwest Montessori’s program and the positive impact it has on my child’s development.  He comes home from school with a good comprehension of the standard components of education (months, continents, letters, numbers, addition, reading,etc.).  He is eager to understand these components and how they relate to him. (for example, he tries to read, spell, add) He is not just reciting what he heard during the day but it is clear that he is gaining a deeper understanding of the material he covered during the day. Self-motivation, direction & self-reliance are emphasized.  This helps him to be responsible for his own educational progress and enhance his personal desire to learn and explore the world around him. He is also taught to exercise self-reliance in regards to daily routines, responsibilities and conflict resolution. The environment is generally free of social pressure from the teachers and his peer group to fit in, so they can focus on learning.  (I am having trouble saying this but in the end I feel this environment encourages and appreciates the kids individually so hopefully no one will feel isolated by the ‘norm’ and situations for bullying will be lessened- where the kid’s personalities aren’t boiled down to obvious stereotypes but the entire ‘motley crew’ of them are accepted). The teachers view the child as individuals  and provide direction in a manner that encourages their independence but fosters a sense of community through appreciation of each others’ differences and similarities.”-T. “My son has learned and grown so much through attending Southwest Montessori Academy–academically, socially, and emotionally. The faculty is made up of compassionate, kind, trained, top-notch Montessori teachers with years of experience. They accepted my son for who he was without an agenda and gave him space, the encouragement, and the time to grow into what he has become. The teachers and the director have daily communication with us, the parents, and are always ready and willing to listen to our concerns and answer our questions. They provide many educational opportunities for parents to learn more about the Montessori method and Positive Discipline, which has been beneficial for our family. Our family will forever be grateful for our time spent at SMA”-S. Mother of a 5-year old Boy

“Southwest Montessori Academy has been a life changer for me and my son. In just a month, I could see an improvement in his behavior and his knowledge! After a few months, I sat down one night during a tantrum of his, and thought to myself, “Wow, this is the first fit he has thrown since I don’t know when!” He had gone from throwing 5 or 6 tantrums an evening anytime he was frustrated, bored or unable to get his way to one random fit here and there making me realize his huge improvements. He has learned how to wait his turn, help with cooking and cleaning tasks, sit down to play, count and be a friend. Along with so much more! I would recommend this school one hundred times and more! We love Southwest Montessori Academy!”-F. Mother of a 4-year old Boy
